Digitup Highlights Japan’s “2025 Digital Cliff” and Legacy Website Challenges at IJCC–MAFF Business Mixer

[Tokyo, Japan — Feb. 11, 2026]Digitup, an Indian technology company, participated in a recent Indo–Japan Chamber of Commerce (IJCC) business mixer organized in association with Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF). The mixer brought together Japanese and Indian companies to explore collaboration opportunities and discuss shared challenges in digital modernization.

During the discussion, Okawa-san from the Global Market Development Division, MAFF, noted that there is poor transparency in the performance and real-time status of websites across many organizations. He added that he would reflect on Digitup’s presentation and consider its relevance after returning to Japan.

Digitup’s CEO, Amit Verma, referenced the concept of the “2025 Digital Cliff,” a term used in Japan’s digital transformation context to describe escalating risks and costs as organizations continue relying on aging and increasingly complex legacy systems—especially amid talent shortages and the gradual retirement of legacy expertise.

Digitup emphasized that the challenge is rooted in how many legacy websites are built and maintained—often as monolithic implementations managed primarily by individual developers rather than cross-functional teams. Without content orchestration, modern CMS deployment, and stronger digital literacy around SEO and AI, many B2B websites remain brochure-like. When this is compounded by the absence of real-time measurement for performance and technical SEO, modernization efforts slow and business outcomes suffer.

“Japan’s website stack is still too often treated like a one-off build—monolithic, developer-owned, and hard to evolve,” said Amit Verma, CEO of Digitup. “Without modern CMS deployment, content orchestration, and real-time visibility into performance and technical SEO, even strong businesses end up with brochure websites that don’t scale, don’t rank, and don’t convert.”
